Alternative Energy Machines
Kira America is pleased to announce it has completed another
ground breaking project. This one is in the “Alternative Energy
Industry”.
The system is a semi-automatic assembly machine. It automatically
inserts a large magnetic armature into a generator housing. Then the
shaft bearings, seals and end caps are installed.
This extremely large and powerful next generation wind energy
generator will be installed atop the largest windmills in use today.
It will allow the windmill to generate substantially more electrical
output then currently produced by conventional generator designs.
The challenge was to insert the armature while overcoming extreme
magnetic forces not seen in conventional designs. As this had never
been done, Kira engineers faced a daunting task.
The Kira engineering approach depended on (FEA) Finite Element
Analysis data and years of machine tool engineering experience.
Creating a method of assemble was the biggest obstacle remaining
that had to be overcome before commercial production of this new
generator could become a reality.
We are honored to be the team that provided the breakthrough needed.
The project started with a small consulting and engineering order
which eventually paid off for our customer with a complete and
successful solution, from concept to completion in less than 20
weeks.
Please see the attached photos which provide a good perspective of
size. The process is confidential and therefore cannot be shown in
detail.
Alternative energy technology is receiving a high priority these
days. In this emerging industry many new challenges will be revealed
for which solutions must be found.
When challenges arise in whichever industrial segment you find it,
please call on Kira America to help.
Whether the challenge is in machining, assembly, testing, cleaning,
material handling or as in this example, overcoming incredible,
invisible forces for energy conservation and a greener planet for
our children, we want to be involved.
